What are the Primaris Intercessors in Warhammer 40k?

The Primaris Intercessors are elite infantry units for the Space Marines faction in Warhammer 40k, introduced in the 8th edition of the game. They are designed to provide a more modern gameplay experience with enhanced capabilities over previous Space Marine units. Equipped with Bolt Rifles, they excel in both ranged and close combat, making them versatile and critical assets in any army. Players often use them to form the backbone of their forces, allowing for solid tactical options on the battlefield.

How many models are included in the Primaris Intercessors box?

Each box of Primaris Intercessors contains five carefully detailed models ready for assembly and painting. This set allows players to customize their Intercessors with various weapon options such as Bolt Rifles, Auto Bolt Rifles, and other special weapons. This diversity enables players to tailor their army according to their specific strategies and play styles, whether aiming for objective control or aggressive attacks.

What is the recommended way to paint Primaris Intercessors?

When painting Primaris Intercessors, it's advisable to start by applying a base coat suitable for the chapter colors of your Space Marines. Layering different shades and highlights will enhance their appearance and add depth. Techniques such as dry brushing can give texture to armor, while careful brushwork can bring out details in the features and accessories. Many players utilize tutorials available through the Games Workshop website and YouTube to develop their painting skills and create stunning miniatures.

Can I use Primaris Intercessors in any Warhammer 40k army?

Yes, Primaris Intercessors can be used in any Space Marines army, including those following various chapters like Ultramarines, Blood Angels, or Dark Angels. Their adaptability to different factions is one of their major benefits, allowing players to mix and match units to create a unique command structure. As a versatile choice, they can serve both as front-line troops and as tactical support depending on your overall strategy.

What are the stats and special rules for Primaris Intercessors?

Primaris Intercessors boast impressive stats that include a toughness of 4 and a resilience to various attacks. They are armed primarily with Bolt Rifles, providing a balance between high damage and range. Additionally, they can benefit from the 'And They Shall Know No Fear' rule, which allows them to ignore morale penalties, ensuring that they remain effective even under heavy fire. This makes them ideal for holding objectives or engaging enemy units effectively.

What bases do Primaris Intercessors come with?

Each Primaris Intercessor model is supplied with a 32mm round base. These bases not only provide a stable foundation for the miniatures during gaming but also come equipped with grooves for scenic customization. Players often paint and decorate their bases to match the thematic elements of their army, which helps to enhance the overall appearance on the battlefield and during display.

Can I convert my Primaris Intercessors into different units?

Yes, Primaris Intercessors are highly customizable, allowing for conversions to create unique characters or specialized roles within your army. Players can swap out weapons or add elements like sergeant upgrades and accessories to personalize the models further. Converting units is a popular aspect of the Warhammer 40k hobby, enhancing engagement and creativity as players craft personalized narratives around their armies.

Are there any expansions or additional models to consider for Primaris Intercessors?

Yes, several expansions and additional models complement the Primaris Intercessors, including the Primaris Captain, Apothecary, and different squads like Infiltrators or Incursors. These models provide further tactical options and character enhancements, allowing players to fine-tune their armies in specific ways depending on battle expectations. Each addition brings unique abilities that can synergize with the Intercessors, offering deeper strategic layers in gameplay.

What strategies work best when deploying Primaris Intercessors?

For optimal deployment of Primaris Intercessors, consider using them as a midfield presence to control key objectives while utilizing their strong ranged capabilities. Keeping them in cover can enhance their survivability, and pairing them with supporting units like Dreadnoughts or transport vehicles can amplify their effectiveness. Another strategy is to enhance their combat potential by utilizing nearby characters who provide buffs through war gear or abilities, creating a well-rounded approach to engagements.
