Produktdetails
- All 21 original Famous Five books in a slipcase - the ultimate collection to introduce the best-known and most popular world of our greatest storyteller. These are the original books which children have been enjoying since the 1940s. Meet Julian, Dick, Anne, George and George's dog, Timmy, who have adventures and solve mysteries on and around Kirrin Island. They encounter smugglers, thieves, runaways and other strange and mysterious people - both good and bad. The Famous Five began life as eagerly-awaited magazine serials which achieved an instant following. So popular were the books that readers urged the publishers to establish a Famous Five club. The characters have inspired board games, stationery, a play, and two TV series. Having celebrating 70 fabulous years in 2012, it's clear the Five are here to stay for a long time to come!

Literature & Fiction Editorial Review
The Famous Five 21 book set has garnered a warm reception from customers who grew up with the beloved series by Enid Blyton or wish to introduce them to a new generation. Many reviewers cherish the nostalgia these books evoke, recalling fond memories of childhood adventures and the joy of reading. The old-fashioned language, illustrations, and overall charm of the original stories stand out as highlights, with several customers noting the appeal of the classic style over modern adaptations. Though some feedback mentions these editions as being less robust or of slightly lower quality than original copies, reviewers agree that the value for money is commendable. Readers appreciate the opportunity these books provide to foster imagination and dream of adventurous escapades that would be impossible in real life. Several parents and grandparents expressed their delight in sharing the stories with their children and grandchildren, noting that the tales retain their magic, silliness, and excitement. However, there are a few concerns regarding the quality compared to original prints. Some readers have pointed out that the text is smaller and the paper quality is less than ideal for those closer to the original editions. That said, most have found the set to be functional and sufficient for reading enjoyment, especially for younger audiences who might not notice the differences. Overall, the positive experiences with the Famous Five series suggest it remains a valuable collection for introducing children to classic literature, while also serving as a nostalgic trip for those who remember the stories fondly. **
