The StarTech.com Rail Depth Adapter Kit is intended to be used with server racks to extend the depth by 4 inches or decrease it as per need. It is a set of two brackets that go in opposite directions, which is how they manage to not alter the rack's width. The oval holes anchor to the existing rack, while the square holes contain the clip nuts. Each kit comes with four cage nuts and screws for mounting. As per customer reviews, these brackets can also work either direction inwards or outwards and can be reversed if needed. Overall the adapter kit is easy to install and ideal for rack enclosures with a fixed depth, and it can work with a variety of racks and equipment. However, the bolts provided with the kit do not fit the rack nuts, which could be a challenge for some customers.
