Answer: The female end is s-video. You might just need an AV cable. -

Will this work with a ps3 as my tv does not have a hdmi port?
Answer: Yes it will as long as your tv has an s-video port, and it will be far better than the standard Av cable. This is a quality cable! In fact it works with ps1-3 possibly ps4 too. -
Question:
Will this cable enable me to use the guncon on ps1 & ps2?
Answer: Guncon would only work on an old Cathode Ray Tube TV and not a new flat LCD etc TV. This cable would not make it work and there is no other one either that does unfortunately - its due to the way those things work. They can't read the new screens. -

Will this improve the quality of PS1 games using a scart adaptor that has a s-video input as well?
Answer: Probably - Scart is a better output than AV so it stands to reason that the better output from the s Video source should look better through this than from the old AV output. Obviously use the S Video input if your TV has it, but I would think the adaptor would make the picture a step up from what you would have had before. -

Does this work with the original PlayStation 1?
Answer: Yes, however this is S-video, take a look at the yellow cable (The one on the right in the picture). You probably just want a normal Playstation 1 AV cable. -

What region is this cable for?
Answer: Cables don’t have regions! It’s a component cable. So if you have a component slot in your TV, it will work. -
Question:
Is the only way to stop this outputting a black and white image to get an upscaler/converter?
Answer: Depends on how you have your PS2 connected. If you are using the component cables, check in the system settings and check if its in regular RGB. If you use the regular Yellow, Red and White cables, it should be in RGB mode. Failing that, you need to figure out how your TV handles colour. Check the menu and maybe change the setting from ‘component’ to ‘video’ or something along those lines.
