Phenyx Pro Wireless PTU-52B Editorial Review
The Phenyx Pro UHF Wireless Microphone System offers a solid option for those in need of a reliable and versatile wireless microphone setup. The receiver and belt-pack transmitter are of good quality, with the receiver offering 30 adjustable UHF frequencies for interference-free operation in busy environments. The microphone options included in the kit, such as the handheld, bodypack, headset, and lapel mic, provide versatility for different applications. However, some reviewers have noted that the handheld microphone does not sound great for vocals and suffers from handling noise. The headset mic is not adjustable and may not fit comfortably for some users, while the sound quality of both the headset and lapel microphones has been described as "cramped" and "gritty". Despite some limitations with the microphones, the overall value of the kit is Considered good, with the receiver and belt-pack transmitter being the standout components. It's worth noting that if using the kit for professional purposes, it may be necessary to upgrade the headset and lapel microphones to ensure optimal sound quality. The inclusion of a hard case for transport and AA batteries for the microphones is appreciated by users. However, the case's design does not provide proper cut-outs for all the components, making it necessary to scatter smaller items on top of the main components. One minor inconvenience mentioned by a reviewer is the lack of an indicator on the belt pack to show mute/unmute status, requiring users to take off the belt pack to check the mic's mute status. In summary, the Phenyx Pro UHF Wireless Microphone System offers decent audio quality and reliability for its price range. It is suitable for various events such as karaoke, weddings, and outdoor conferences, but may require the upgrade of some microphone components for professional use.
